Product description

Marley Western Red Cedar Handsplit Shakes are a premium quality Certi Split accredited shake perfect for a range of applications from bespoke garden buildings to unique new builds. Marley Cedar Shakes offer a stunning yet rustic appearance providing a striking and distinctive look for your project.

Why choose Marley Western Red Handsplit Shakes?

• Premium Western Red Cedar Shake – Our products are Certi-split acreditated which are the highest grade of cedar shakes on the market.
• Easy to install & lightweight – Cedar shakes simply nailed twice to roofing batten.
• Ideally suited for vertical cladding & roofing.
• Excellent Performance in exposed conditions – extremely resilient in high winds.
• Durable & Hardwearing – life expectancy of up to 50 years.
• PEFC certified – Sustainable and renewable solution.
• Approved by the Cedar Shakes & Shingles Bureau.

What is the difference between Shingles and Shakes?

The key difference between Marley Cedar Shingles and Marley Cedar Shakes is that the Cedar Shakes have a much thicker end or butt to the product compared with a much thinner end to a shingle. This allows the shake to provide a more rugged detail as it sits further from the roof or vertical which provides deeper shadow lines and rustic appearance.
