When installing Marley Weatherboard, EPDM Tape should be used to protect structural timbers from water damage at the expansion gap between two adjoining weatherboard planks.

Also known as ethylene propylene diene terpolymer, EPDM is a durable synthetic rubber that is often used as a roofing membrane due to its durability and weather-resistant properties.

This black EPDM Tape is strong, weatherproof and self-adhesive. It is easy to cut and supplied in 20m rolls in a choice of widths: 50mm, 75mm and 100mm.

Using EPDM Tape when installing Marley Weatherboard

When two weatherboard plank ends meet, they should be fixed to one batten. A protective strip of EPDM tape should be adhered to the batten to protect the timber from moisture ingress. Weatherboard planks should also be cut square at their ends and loose butt jointed together.

EPDM Tape should also be used to protect support timbers at corners, around windows and doors and anywhere else they may be exposed to rainwater ingress.

EPDM Tape: Part of the Marley Weatherboard system

Suitable for residential and commercial applications, Marley Weatherboard is a comprehensive fibre cement external cladding system that includes everything from the fibre cement planks to the fixings, profiles and touch-up paint. It is lightweight, weather resistant, cost-effective, easy to maintain and fire tested to A2-s1, d0.

Marley Weatherboard is provided in four timeless colours: White, Light Grey, Slate Grey and Black, and are finished with a natural woodgrain texture that suits both new-build and refurbishment projects.
